Es ist ein Hobby für jung und alt - aber nicht für Leute die nur zuhause „abhängen“ wollen.

Bei uns heißt es nicht nur im Sommer „runter von der Couch und rein ins Outfit“! 

Wir haben bis zu 4 Generationen im Verein!

Sie suchen ein Hobby für die ganze Familie?

Sie möchten Natur neu oder wieder entdecken und nette Menschen kennen lernen?

Dann sind Sie hier richtig - wir sind 2 Vereine aus Wiesbaden, und Rüsselsheim.

Es ist nicht nur die Darstellung der altern Zeit der Indianer, es ist viel mehr auch

das Leben mit der Natur und in der Natur.

Heute hat fast jedes Kind ein PC und kann alle Informationen im ein paar Minuten abrufen.

Das ist `ne tolle Sache!

Aber zum Glück kann man am PC noch nicht riechen, fühlen und tasten, wie sichdas wahre Leben anfühlt.

Wissen unsere Kinder noch wie die Wolken ziehen?,

 was man aus der Natur alles essen kann?, wie es sich anfühlt, wenn einem Regen auf die Haut tropft? Das man Essen auf einem offenen Feuer zubereiten kann, und Kühe nicht lila sind?Das alles erleben wir von Zeit zu Zeit

Wenn Sie mal im Tipi am Lagerfeuer eingeschlafen sind, werden Sie verstehen was ich meine.

Mit Indianer spielen hat das nichts zu tun!
Dank aller nur denkbaren kulturellen Aspekte sind alle Variationen vorhanden.

Wir nehmen unser Hobby und die damit verbundene Arbeit, sei es in theoretischer oder praktischer Form, sehr ernst.

Die Tipis, alle Kleidungsstücke, so gut wie alle Gegenstände sind in Handarbeit von uns selbst hergestellt und verziert. Wir üben uns in vielen Fertigkeiten und Kunsthandwerkstechniken

Auch in Tänzen und Gesängen bemühen wir uns um größtmögliche Authentizität. Wir veranstalten bzw. besuchen lndianertreffen an den Wochenenden. Denn das „Begreifen" (Anfassen) lässt uns zu Erkenntnissen kommen, die wir durch das alleinige Lesen in Büchern niemals gewinnen könnten.

Who is the Indian and Mountain

 Men Club Wiesbaden e.V.

The Indian and Mountain Men Club Wiesbaden eV was founded in 1975 and is an association that deals with the history of North American Indians, not only before 1900. Not only the theory of this extensive subject is important for us, but also the practical application in our spare time.

We call ourselves hobbyists and are very interested in a long-vanished way of life that we seek in our spare time.

In Europe, there are several thousand such Indian hobbyists, who are members in over 200 clubs united under several umbrella organizations.

The way to operate this unusual hobby is very different:

From a simple stereotype Costumemanufacturing up to the scientifically precise internalization of all sorts of cultural aspects, all variations are available.

We call ourselves as practicing anthropologist and take our hobby and the related work, either in theoretical or practical shape, very seriously. The tipis, all the clothing, as well as all items are lovingly made by hand and decorated by us.

Many of us even tan their leather itself and sew it together with animal sinews, as the Indians did before. We practice in many skills and craft techniques of this cultural group.

Even in songs and dances we strive to achieve the utmost authenticity. We organize and attend lndian-Camps on the weekends or in our holiday where we can try out in practice our produced objects.

This will also close or reduce gaps in the scientific literature (mostly English-speaking). The "understanding" (by touching) lets us come to conclusions that we could never gain only by reading in books.
